THE MINUTES OF FRANT PARISH COUNCIL PLANNING MEETING
HELD AT FRANT MEMORIAL HALL ON MONDAY 28 APRIL 2008 AT 19:30

Present: Councillors Crookshank (Chairman), Gray, Hall, Harris, Hewes and Rowland.
Two members of the public were in attendance.

1.             TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES AND REASON FOR ABSENCE
Apologies received from Cllrs. Burgess, Mrs Howell, Mrs Myers and Mrs Scarborough; reasons noted and accepted.

2.             DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None.

3.             OPEN FORUM
Owner of Owl Cottage, Frant Court explained that a planning application was required for the minor work of resiting the front door as permitted development rights were removed when permission was granted to develop the site.

4.             TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
It was resolved to respond to the planning application as follows:
WD/2008/0816/F Owl Cottage, 20 Frant Court – relocate existing recessed front to outside position and fit new glazed internal door.
Frant Parish Council supports this application.

WD/2008/0869/F 4 Church Lane, Frant – loft conversion with dormer window.
The application is considered to be sympathetic with the alterations undertaken at the adjoining property and as such the proposal is supported.

WD/2008/0920/F 11 Rushlye Close – remove conservatory, construct two storey and single storey extension and new conservatory.
No objection although it is noted that the windows in the roof of the extended porch will unbalance the line and design of the row of dwellings.

WD/2008/0838/F Woodcote, Down Lane – two storey side extension and alterations.
It is noted that there has already been a substantial increase in this dwelling. However, as the proposed design is in keeping with the existing structure and the property is not overlooked, there is no objection to the application.

WD/2008/0541/F RSPB Broadwater Warren – 30 place car park for nature reserve, bike racks, information board/shelter, height barrier and lockable barrier.
Frant Parish Council supports this application which will enable visitors to the site to park off the road.

WD/2008/0873/F Existing base station, Eridge Road – replacement of existing tri-sector antenna with 3 antennas within a shroud, associated radio equipment cabin and development ancillary thereto.
No objection.

WD/2008/0953/F Glebe Farm, Frant – single storey extension/alterations.
No objection.

WD/2008/0583/LB The Limes, Lime Close – external and internal repairs, two new windows, new cast iron guttering, removal of partition walls.
Frant Parish Council supports the proposal for maintenance/improvement of this important Listed Building subject to the confirmation of the Conservation Officer. 

5.             To note decisions from Wealden District Council.
The following applications have been approved:
WD/2008/0520/F – two storey extension at 6 Little Bayham Cottages.
WD/2008/0296/F – squash court at Frant Place.

The following applications have been refused:
WD/2008/0135/F – motorcycle courier service at former Rawsons site.
WD/2008/0235/F – Indian take-away at former Rawsons site.

Other planning matters
Notification that application for an extension at The Walled Garden, Wadhurst Road is to go to Appeal.
Report that Chase Wood is under offer of sale.
